Mackey is a designer, founder, and investor. At R7, he invests across sectors and transforms products into household names.
Mackey is the designer responsible for some of today’s most exciting and ever-present identities including Instagram, Silk, Oculus, Podium, Flatiron, Unsplash, Galileo, Citizen, Gopuff, Sentry, WeTransfer, and Affirm among many others. He has also created visual identities for products, divisions, or sub-brands for clients such as Google, Meta, Bloomberg, Cisco, Disney, AOL, Turner, Discovery and many other well established organizations. Mackey has spent his career helping brands of all sizes find their place through idea-driven strategy, smart and simple design, and constant pursuit of enduring visual principles. After running his own studios in San Francisco and Denver, he became a Principal at Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv—the branding and graphic design firm responsible for iconic logos including NBC, National Geographic, and Chase Bank.
In 2019, Mackey co-founded Dadi which was acquired by Ro in 2021. He runs his namesake studio based in Brooklyn, focusing on creating impactful visual identities for evolving clients across diverse industries both locally and internationally.
