Bedrock is accelerating our understanding of the ocean by creating 50x higher resolution maps of the seafloor. This understanding is critical for more accurate climate models, improved weather predictions, ocean safety, submarine communications infrastructure, and sustainable ocean exploration.

Today, only 5% of our oceans are mapped at 100m resolution. Current subsea surveys are primarily focused on ships, assets, operations, and lots of people — not technology, not data. Bedrock is changing this status quo by taking a data-first approach to subsea surveying, and improving data acquisition and management across the industry. They vow to explore and map the entirety of Earth’s oceans while also providing a defined public benefit throughout the life of the corporation.
